New Book Looks Back At the Storied History of Chicago's Fine Arts Building
WDCB’s Gary Zidek catches up with author Keir Graff to talk about his new book, CHICAGO’S FINE ARTS BUILDING: MUSIC, MAGIC AND MURDER.
LISTEN
Anyone entering the Fine Arts Building in Chicago is greeted with the phrase “ALL PASSES … ART ALONE ENDURES”. While meant to describe the work of the creatives who inhabit the building, the words also serve as a mantra of sorts for the historic structure itself. Four-ten south Michigan Avenue has been a hub of creative activity since 1898.
A new hardcover book, CHICAGO’S FINE ARTS BUILDING: MUSIC, MAGIC AND MURDER dives into the storied 125-plus-year history of the structure. It comes from Chicago-based author Keir Graff.
