Two years after a successful collaboration, renowned multi-instrumentalist Kishi Bashi is partnering again with the Chicago Philharmonic. The acclaimed musician and orchestra are coming back together to present world premiere orchestral arrangements from Kishi Bashi’s latest album, Kantos. Back in 2023, Kishi Bashi and the Chicago Philharmonic partnered to present IMPROVISATIONS ON EO 9066, music that put a spotlight on the incarceration of over 100,000 people of Japanese descent in aftermath of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor. The upcoming concert. which is set for Saturday April 19, will be a somewhat lighter affair. The focus will be on Kantos, an album described as party music for the potential end of the world.
